DIAX03 checklist / DDS02 and DDS03

DDS02 Configured Replacement Checklist

A DDS controller is a configured assembly. The basic unit, command and plug-in modules, software module, firmware and drive parameters work together. Replacing only the base unit code can leave critical configuration questions unanswered.

WHEN TO USE THIS GUIDE

Use this guide before a DDS unit is removed, before modules are transferred, or when a candidate replacement has a different visible module set.

01

Inventory the complete assembly

  • Basic unit: complete DDS type code, design generation, cooling, current and feedback fields.
  • Command and plug-in modules: complete label, slot position and connector orientation.
  • Software module: complete label, firmware, function identification and parameter context.
  • Connected system: motor, power supply, adjacent drives and machine axis.
02

Photograph before disassembly

  • Cabinet-wide view with the DDS position and connected power architecture visible.
  • Front label, status display and every installed module label.
  • Software module, connector arrangement and cable labels before disconnection.
03

Plan the replacement path

  • Confirm whether modules and the software module will be reused, evaluated or replaced.
  • Confirm motor feedback, command interface and supply-system compatibility.
  • Create a documented plan for firmware, parameters and machine startup.

Do not assume

  • Do not describe a bare DDS basic unit as a complete configured replacement.
  • Do not change module order without a complete photo and configuration record.
  • Do not assume matching current class resolves feedback, cooling or firmware questions.

Common questions

What this checklist can and cannot establish.

Is a DDS basic unit a complete replacement?

Not by itself. The installed modules, software module, firmware, parameters, feedback and cooling configuration also require review.

Should I move the software module?

Only under a documented plan. First record its complete label, firmware and relationship to the machine parameters.

What if the candidate has different modules?

Photograph both configurations and request a slot-by-slot review before transferring or powering the hardware.
