ECODRIVE comparison / DKC controllers

DKC01 vs DKC02 vs DKC03 Interface Checklist

DKC01, DKC02 and DKC03 identify command-interface families within documented ECODRIVE generations; they do not simply identify output size. A safe review starts with the entire type code, especially the design number after the decimal.

WHEN TO USE THIS GUIDE

Use this guide before removing an ECODRIVE controller, moving firmware or parameters, or comparing a candidate unit from inventory.

01

Separate family from design generation

  • Record DKC01, DKC02 or DKC03 together with the design number after the decimal.
  • Do not apply a .3-generation interface description to a .1-generation controller.
  • Use the exact factory manual for the installed design and firmware release.
02

Common ECODRIVE03 interface context

  • DKC01.3 is commonly documented with analog and parallel command architecture.
  • DKC02.3 is commonly documented with SERCOS interface architecture.
  • DKC03.3 is commonly documented with PROFIBUS-DP architecture.
03

Verify beyond the interface

  • Current and voltage fields from the complete controller code.
  • Connected motor, encoder support, feedback cabling and supply architecture.
  • Firmware family, release, parameter handling and any installed option hardware.

Do not assume

  • Do not compare only the 01, 02 or 03 family number.
  • Do not move removable firmware or memory hardware without recording labels and position.
  • Do not promise a fieldbus match without checking the physical connectors and full code.

Common questions

What this checklist can and cannot establish.

Does DKC01 mean a smaller controller than DKC03?

No. The family number identifies interface architecture within a documented generation; current and voltage are separate fields.

Why is the number after the decimal important?

It identifies a hardware design generation. Interface and planning details from one generation should not be applied automatically to another.

What should I photograph before removal?

Capture the full label, firmware, connectors, removable modules, connected motor and cabinet supply arrangement.
