When production stops, the fastest useful message is not the longest one. It is a compact record of the exact hardware, observed symptom, installed system and required outcome. This checklist keeps a time-sensitive request specific without guessing at the internal failure.
Lead with the essential facts
- Machine manufacturer, model, line, axis or process and physical location.
- Complete part number from the failed unit and connected motor or controller.
- Displayed fault, observed symptom, whether the unit powers up and the last known normal state.
Attach decision-grade photos
- Readable nameplate, full unit, connectors or shaft, installed modules and cabinet context.
- Front-panel status before power is removed when established safety procedure permits.
- Any candidate spare beside its own full label - never only the front housing.
State the requested outcome
- Current availability and delivery destination.
- Repair or exchange evaluation and whether the original unit is available to ship.
- Identification help when the code is incomplete or the machine documentation conflicts with the label.
Do not assume
- Do not diagnose an internal component failure from one external symptom.
- Do not omit the connected motor or drive when the system is configuration-sensitive.
- Do not say in stock until the complete code, quantity, condition and included hardware are physically verified.
