A useful request does not require perfect technical language. It requires clear evidence from the installed unit. Four deliberate photos and an exact transcription can prevent a family-level visual match from being mistaken for a configuration match.
Take four purposeful photos
Capture the evidence before connectors, modules or accessories are moved.
- Nameplate: photograph it straight on, fill the frame and control glare so every character is readable.
- Complete unit: show the full motor, drive, supply, control or HMI instead of only the label.
- Interfaces: photograph the motor shaft and flange, drive connectors, option modules, cooling and feedback hardware.
- Installed context: include the cabinet position, adjacent modules, cable labels, machine axis and connected controller or motor.
Transcribe the code exactly
- Keep leading zeroes, decimal points, slashes, hyphens and suffixes.
- Record material, serial, firmware, function ID and revision fields separately when present.
- Mark an uncertain character with a question mark instead of silently guessing.
- Keep the original photo with the typed code so a specialist can compare them.
Add machine context
- Machine manufacturer and model, axis or function, and the observed fault or symptom.
- Whether the unit powers up, whether the failure is intermittent and what changed immediately beforehand.
- Whether the request is for identification, current availability, repair evaluation or exchange review.
Do not assume
- Do not crop off a suffix because it looks like a serial number.
- Do not clean or disassemble an energized unit to improve the photo.
- Do not assume two units are compatible because their housings match.
